Medical Terminology & Disability Management for Non-Medical Professionals

WSIB claims often involve medical reports and terminology that can be difficult for non-medical professionals to understand. This workshop, facilitated by a nurse and doctor who specialize in occupational medicine and disability management, provides insight into various medical topics that often arise in workers’ compensation claims management. This session is intended for non-medical professionals and will provide:

• Overview of medical terminology;
• Understanding common types of injury (in each area of the body);
• Interpreting Medical Findings;
• Common medications and what they treat;
• Tools for effective disability management.

This 3 hour in-person session includes continental breakfast. Arrival and registration from 8:30-9am. Session to commence at 9am.
